At the last wood industry briefing meeting in Binh Dinh, Standing Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Ha Cong Tuan highly appreciated the overcoming of enterprises in the first 9 months of 2020 so that the wood industry could have a breakthrough. item. In the context that the export market is affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, Vietnam's wood industry has grown by 12% over the same period, which is an unexpected achievement.

Deputy Minister Ha Cong Tuan emphasized that, from now until the end of the year, there are 3 months left, not long, but with the current growth momentum, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development believes that from now to the end of the year, Vietnam's wood processing industry. South can reach export turnover of about 4 billion USD. Thus, in 2020, the export turnover of Vietnam's wood industry reaching the target of about 12.5 billion USD is very feasible.

According to Mr. Do Xuan Lap, Chairman of the Vietnam Timber and Forest Products Association, in addition to the timely support packages of the Government and the ministries and central branches, it is also thanks to the relentless efforts of businesses.

The proof is that through the first 9 months of 2020, the two items of kitchen cabinets and bathroom cabinets alone have reached an export value of nearly $ 1 billion, an increase of over 80% over the same period in 2019.

This branch will create a chain of links to create a large network connecting businesses step by step to integrate into the global supply chain.

Another opportunity for the Vietnamese wood industry in the coming time is the huge room for the EU market. However, the export value of forest products to this market is still very low, when in 2019, the export turnover of wood and wood products to the EU market is only 864 million USD, accounting for about 5.4%. in the total export turnover of wood and wood products of our country to the world markets, while the demand for wood products and wood products of the EU is up to 85 billion USD annually.
