Vietnamese agriculture is at a crucial crossroads, facing the impacts of climate change, shifts in consumer behavior, and intense global market competition. In this context, private enterprises are pivotal in building new value chains, driving innovation, and steering the sector toward a green, modern, and sustainable agricultural model.
Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW dated May 4, 2025, issued by the Politburo, has reaffirmed that the private sector is one of the most vital driving forces of the national economy. It particularly emphasizes the importance of private investment in strategic sectors such as agriculture, food processing, and supply chain development.

Leading the Value Chain – From Production to the Global Market
Numerous major private agricultural enterprises in Vietnam have been making bold investments in technology, integrated production ecosystems, and export market expansion:
- Minh Phu Seafood Corporation is applying AI, Blockchain, and smart management technologies to develop concentrated farming areas and a closed-loop processing chain.
- Sao Ta Foods has reported strong growth in production and export revenue to major markets such as the US, South Korea, and Japan.
- Trung An successfully exported Vietnam’s first batch of “low-emission green rice” to Japan, marking a significant milestone in aligning the country’s rice industry with international environmental standards.
According to VASEP, Vietnam’s seafood export turnover reached USD 4.11 billion in the first five months of 2025—an increase of 15.1% compared to the same period in 2024. The annual goal of USD 11 billion relies heavily on the capacity and agility of pioneering private enterprises.
However, despite positive results, many businesses still face challenges in accessing medium- and long-term financing and green credit to implement circular agriculture and smart farming projects.
Industry leaders such as TTC AgriS, Minh Phu, and Phuc Sinh have repeatedly emphasized the need for more concrete policies to support the development of processing plants, supporting industries, and green industrial parks, especially under models that link farmers, cooperatives, and private enterprises.
