Born into a poor and crowded peasant family in the border area of Dong Thap province, after finishing 2nd grade, his family's life was too difficult, Nguyen Thanh Hung quit school to work as a hired laborer.

Realizing that a hired job could not bring him a better life, Hung applied for a job in machine repair, both to earn a living and to learn an apprenticeship. In daily contact with machines, the mechanical profession became familiar to him.

Understanding the hardship of his people when he only knew manual labor "selling face to land, selling his back to heaven", the thought of finding ways to help farmers reduce the destiny appeared in his mind.

Initially, he bought an old rice threshing machine, took advantage of his free time to tinker, practice changing some details to create new features for the machine, serving the farming.

Each product comes out without detailed drawings, you can fix it wherever you go. “It's not the first, second time that succeeds.

Failure to defeat. Just a screwdriver, the screw does not match, ... this side must also depend on the type of agricultural products that we design the rotor, the screen adjustment device, separating the seeds ... ", Hung shared.

Nguyen Thanh Hung's efforts have brought "fruit". The sesame seed plucking machine was born with astonishment for the local people by the capacity of the machine releasing 70% of the time and labor force for farmers.

Not stopping successfully with sesame seed plucking machine, this "engineer" also acutely realized the potential of drought-tolerant crops such as water spinach, peanuts, hybrid corn, ... began to take root in many places and again. become a strong crop in the local agricultural restructuring project.

Anh Hung said that the locality has a policy of converting inefficient rice land. At that time, the market had no finished grain threshing machines, farmers struggled to use their hands to beat them, especially when it was in the main season, it took a lot of labor to do it.

Seeing that, he thought of building a machine with the ability to pluck seeds to partially reduce the farmer's hardship when the harvest came.

Think is done. For each type of crop, Hung studies the properties, then improves, changes details, and upgrades the old products accordingly. For example, with seed spinach, the texture of water spinach is soft, chewy, and long stemmed differently from the trunk of a sesame tree or rice plant, and he has to fix the body part.

After a period of tinkering, the water spinach seed plucking machine was born. This machine works quite simply, the principle is similar to the spool machine. The dried water spinach bundles after being put in the machine will be screened separately for the seeds and the stem.

As one of the pioneers of growing morning glory for seeds, Mr. Tran Van Dang (Thuong Phuoc 1 commune) said that after 4 months of cultivation, farmers harvested with a yield of about 300 kg / 1,000 m2. In the past, to separate finished water spinach seeds, all stages had to be done manually.

Now is different, the threshing machine once and farmers only need to rework the second time to sell. Mr. Dang compared, with 1,000 m2 of growing morning glory for seeds, using manual methods takes 15-20 days to complete, using the seed plucking machine only one day is done.

Products of Mr. Hung help farmers in Hong Ngu district to free their labor force. Currently, a series of machines branded Sau Hung have become familiar in some neighboring provinces. With the market selling price ranging from 150 to 180 million VND / unit, agricultural machines specializing in plucking sesame seeds, jute vegetables, water spinach ... are present in the fields inside, outside the province and the country of Cambodia.

It is estimated that Sau Hung mechanical factory in the border area of ​​Sen Hong has supplied to the market more than 500 products of all kinds according to orders. The average annual turnover is from 1.5 to 2 billion. From there, Mr. Hung also creates jobs for 4-5 workers with an income of about 5 million VND / month.
