The above judgment was made by the Prime Minister in the Government Conference with localities to evaluate the economic situation in the first 6 months of the year and to deploy the tasks in the last 6 months of the year.

Currently, the world highly appreciates Vietnam's efforts and success in disease prevention. However, the pandemic had a great impact on Vietnam's economy in the second quarter and the economic recovery task is becoming more urgent than ever with the determination not to let Covid-19 come back and attack. strong for economic recovery.

According to the Prime Minister, in the world, the economy deteriorates rapidly due to the complicated developments of Covid-19 globally, including major and important partners of Vietnam and in recent days Covid-19 has spread. Wide and unpredictable when it will be controlled because there is no vaccine.
In economic terms, there are 2 scenarios where if a pandemic breaks out for a second time, global growth will decrease by nearly 8%, and if the pandemic does not return, growth will decrease by about 6%.
In Vietnam, the influence of Covid-19 is most evident in the second quarter, especially in April and May. Second quarter GDP increased by only 0.36%, the lowest in the past 30 years and GDP in the first six months only increased by 1, 81%.

In particular, Vietnam's CPI gradually decreased from over 6% to 4%, the exchange rate was stable, the interest rate level continued to decrease, bringing confidence to the people and investors in the country and the world.
"Trying to keep CPI at approximately 4%, in accordance with the target set by the National Assembly at the beginning of the year, if not, it will affect many problems, including the people's life", emphasized the Prime Minister.

In which, the first 6 months grew by 1.19%, contributing 11.89% to the general growth of the country.
According to the head of the Government, Vietnam needs to be calm, proactive and confident in assessing the situation, not subjective but not pessimistic. This is the time of 'fire test gold, arduous test of strength', the harder it is to strive for more.
